Budget Travel Wardrobe: Top 5 Sites for Affordable Brand Name Clothing and Travel Essentials

If you’re anything like me, you want to look stylish and have cool gear when you travel. The world is not about comparison, but yes, I do want to look just as good, if not better, than the hiker next to me. And I certainly don’t want to be caught out on an adventure without some instrumental piece of equipment I’ve somehow overlooked. However, as we all know, a new wardrobe can quickly drain your bank account, and I refuse to sacrifice my travel budget just to look stylish out in the wild. That’s why I’ve curated a collection of insider shopping destinations where I consistently score deals on travel essentials—from performance sneakers and durable backpacks to versatile wardrobe staples—ensuring I’m adventure-ready without the financial regret.

1. ASOS: Hidden Treasure Trove for Discounted Brand Names

Yes, we’ve all been on ASOS before, but have you been buying things full price or are you navigating the site to maximize style potential and find discounted shoes and cheap clothes online?

I don’t personally buy ASOS-branded items, but the beauty of ASOS is their abundance of other brands such as Adidas, Reebok, Puma, Nike, and New Balance- which often show up in the final clearance section. I subscribe to the ASOS site, and when I get an email saying that there’s an extra discount code on final clearance items available, I hop on to shop for low price brand name clothes as soon as possible. This is how I’ve been able to get Nike Cortez sneakers for $30 ($90 on the Nike website), New Balance 530s for $50 ($100 on the New Balance website), and a slew of Adidas Originals Essentials for less than $20.

If sportswear isn’t your thing, ASOS also has brands like & Other Stories, Free People, and Levi’s on clearance sale online too.

2. Urban Outfitters: Unexpected Source for Outdoor Gear Deals

Fortunately, I am not seventeen anymore, but I’ll admit that I do use the Urban Outfitters clearance sale online section even at the ripe old age of twenty-seven because I love finding inexpensive brand name clothes online.

Similarly to ASOS, Urban Outfitters sells a number of different brands beyond their in-house labels. I look for a lot of the same brands as I do on ASOS- Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc. However, Urban Outfitters also has brands such as Birkenstocks, Patagonia, North Face, and Lisa Says Gah, that cannot be found on ASOS. UO has a ‘sale on sale’ about once every month. I subscribe to their emails as well, and whenever I notice a subject line reading ‘Extra 40% Off Sale’ I jump over to the site. In my experience, Urban Outfitters stocks fewer women’s clothes sale items than ASOS, and items seem to sell out faster. I try to get onto their page as quickly as possible to ensure I bag the deals.

On Urban, I’ve gotten Pajar Toboggan Snowboots for $50 ($225 on the Pajar website), Reebok Freestyle Hi Sneakers for $35 ($80 on the Reebok website), and an Adidas Originals Crewneck Sweatshirt for $10 ($50 on the Adidas website), among many other low price brand name clothes and discounted shoes deals.

3. Offe-Market: The Hidden Gem for Indie Brand Steals

This has been a newer site for me- think of T.J. Maxx, but it’s all indie brands like Baggu, Ganni, and Le Specs. I started using them after seeing a TikTok about their Baggu selection, and I have to say, I’m hooked. The colors are a little off as they’re typically selling overstock merch that didn’t sell well with the brand originally, but thankfully for me, I love some bright colors.

On Offe-Market, I bought mini nylon shoulder bags for my sisters for Christmas, in azalea pink and a bright orange hue, and they were 30% off the standard Baggu price of $44. Currently, they have a variety of crescent bags, a staple when I travel, in different colors also going for 30% off.

Offe-Market may not be a home run every time, but it’s worth taking a look every now and then to check out their inventory of travel accessories and unique finds.

4. Poshmark: The Patient Shopper’s Paradise

My obsession with Poshmark runs deep, and for good reason. On the app, you can find items new with tags (NWT) for a fraction of the price you’d pay on the brand’s online store. A head’s up though: Poshmark is a waiting game. Sellers often hike up the prices when they first list, trying to get the most out of buyers. However, if you simply “like” the item, and track it for a few weeks, you’ll often see the price steadily fall over time.

Another great feature on Poshmark is the ability to send an offer to a seller. You don’t need to wait for a seller to lower the price on their own. You’re also able to send them an offer indicating whatever you feel comfortable paying. There’s no guarantee the seller will accept your offer, it typically depends on how long they’ve had the item listed, but it never hurts to give a little nudge. Oftentimes, even if the seller declines my original offer, if I wait a bit longer, they’ll lower the price on their own in a few weeks.

On Poshmark, I’ve gotten barely-used Nike Airmax sneakers for $40 (~$125 on the Nike website), Ray-Ban sunglasses for $40 ($195 on the Ray-Ban website), and Nike Torch 4 running sneakers for $35 ($85 on the Nike website).

5. Outlets: Timing is Everything for Maximum Savings

This one feels like a no-brainer, but sometimes can get overlooked. Go to the outlets near your city! Preferably in the off-season of the goods you’re looking for. For example, if you need a down jacket to go on a snowshoeing adventure in the Rockies, go to The North Face outlet in July to get the best deals.

I’m lucky enough to live by the Woodbury Commons outlets, which features stores like The North Face, Lululemon, and Aritzia. I typically plan my trip about a month out so I can save up some extra cash to spend on the shopping spree.

While shopping at the outlets, I’ve gotten $12 jeans at Abercrombie, $24 tops from Lululemon, a $100 down jacket at the North Face, and much more.

The Bottom Line: Travel in Style Without Breaking the Bank

With these five strategic shopping destinations, you can build a travel wardrobe that’s both functional and fashionable without emptying your bank account. Whether you’re preparing for a hiking expedition, a beach getaway, or an urban adventure, these resources will help you look your best while saving money for the experiences that matter most.
